DAY TOURS
CAPE PENINSULA
| We travel along the spectacular
coastline of False Bay – past MUIZENBERG surfers beach, KALK BAY’S quaint
shops and fishing quay and on to SIMONSTOWN naval village. After visiting
a penguin colony at BOULDERS beach we make our way to CAPE OF GOOD HOPE
NATURE RESERVE. Here we will see the rich cape floral kingdom and look
out for baboons, ostrich, bontebok and eland. A 30-minute hike or a funicular
takes you to the top of Cape Point. Our return trip goes via a scenic route
to HOUT BAY where we view the Sentinel. On our way along the Atlantic Seaboard
from Chapman's Peak, we stop briefly at the beaches of LLANDUDNO, CAMPS
BAY and CLIFTON. |

CAPE
WINELANDS

We travel to the vineyards
of PAARL for our first wine tasting. We continue to FRANSCHOEK with its
strong French influence. We have another wine tasting before we view this
beautiful valley from the summit of the mountain.
Lunch (optional) can be enjoyed from
the many award-winning restaurants in the area. The afternoon is spent
meandering through the university town of STELLENBOSCH, rich in history
and where many of the buildings have been declared national monuments.

CITY
& CULTURES TOUR
| We visit the Cape Malay
area of BO-KAAP and discover their traditions and influence on Cape cuisine.
We proceed to Table Mountain for
a trip to the top by cable car (for your account). A walk through
the Company Gardens could include a visit to the South African Museum,
Cultural History Museum, the National Art Gallery and the District Six
Museum. We spend some time at the Castle of Good Hope dating back
to 1666.
A leisurely afternoon is enjoyed
in the world famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

WEST
COAST TOUR
 The
vastly barren coastal terrain has a natural beauty of its own. Indigenous
fynbos (fine bush) covers the sandy dunes that lead to a rugged coastline
rich in marine life and birds. We visit the farming town of DARLING
with its interesting museum and theater.
The lagoon at LANGEBAAN is a picture
of absolute tranquility. The WEST COAST NATIONAL PARK offers
the opportunity to see game such as kudu, eland, zebra and other fauna
in spring. The flower season is from August to October when the surrounding
fields explode in a multitude of colourful flowers. This tour may
include visits to the towns of Yzerfontein, Saldanha and Paternoster. On
our way back we stop at Bloubergstrand to get the postcard picture of Table
Mountain from across the sea.

HERMANUS
| Noted for its seasonal
whale watching this tour is a wonderful journey even out of season.
We travel along a mountainous road flanked by the Indian Ocean. We
may choose to visit any of the fishing and holiday villages of ONRUS, VERMONT,
THE KELDERS etc.
A short walk through the Harold Porter
botanical garden gives an idea of the fynbos vegetation in its national
surroundings. The drive through the Hemel en Aarde (heaven and earth)
valley of wine and wheat farms allow for some wine tasting. The journey
back is over SIR LOWRY’S PASS where the vista stretches forever. |

for the more adventurous may include White Shark diving, boat trip to Dyer
Island (penguins and seals) or canoeing up a river. |
